My brain has turned into a pea-green mush
Not sure why, stayed in, watched football, and read
Quite a lot this morning - I read too much
Perhaps? Finished Guardian's 'Century' - had
A look back at that paper's last hundred
Years or so, with some memorable articles
And photos - Chinese tanks, reunited
Germany, Thatcher, Blair, Reagan, but fools
They seem now as history tells its tales
Perhaps just puppets puppet-masters push
And pull, or did they really hold the thread
And make us dance? A slim book on Fidel's
Rise in Cuba was next, then Dali! Just
Begun a book I've had since a student!
