A restless night on Pearl's sofa, flatmate
Came in late, I thought she'd come in the room
Dropped off about midnight, that's rather late
Considering I was so tired. We zoomed
To London Bridge, then St Pancras, and soon
We were on Eurostar, the train to France
Jack Whitehall's dad and mum were both there too
We reached Gare du Nord, then the Metro lines
To Hotel de Ville, the weather was fine
We walked to l'Arc de Triomphe, and we ate
Petit baguettes and crepes. There was more room
On the Metro than in London. Still time
To walk to the Eiffel Tower, then caught
The Metro back to our cool hotel room

2164 - Back on track
I'm back on track - tonight, did comedy
Upstairs at the Ape & Apple, oh yes
This time of year it's a bit quiet, maybe
So the audiences are smaller, with less
Top-rate comics around also, the best
Of them up at the Edinburgh Fringe
This morning as I was off work, read rest
Of my counter-culture book. It was strange
To finish it at last. John Clare's free range
Country and madness poems begun - he
Ended in an asylum, seventy plus
When he died. Although judged as quite deranged
He has still left a timeless legacy
The ambition of many men, I guess

1087 - It's who you know, you know
It’s who you know, you know. Who do you know?
You know who you should know, you know you should
No doubt you know you could, but you say, No!
I’m proud, I’ll only know you if you’re good
If you stand out, you know your name is mud
You know you’ll miss out, and no-one will care
For you know there’s this secret brotherhood
You must know the name of everyone there
You know the game, the rules of fame aren’t fair
You know you’re to blame, if you play too slow
You know you’ll be shamed, head hid in a hood
You know you shouldn’t brood, but you beware
Of saying No. No, just go with the flow
Know who you should know, oh, you know you should!
