1682 - Hello again Heaton Park

With the arrival of spring, I have been
Itching to get out running once again
Even though last year I packed running in
Because after each run I felt some pain
Or rather, ache, in my knees and my shins
So reluctantly I resigned myself
To becoming less fit, drinking, smoking
And all that money-wasting, bad for health
Stuff, but, as I've not drunk or smoked for well
Over a week, and with the spring sunshine
Making my blood run faster in my veins
I spent eighty quid on new shoes, my wealth
Depleted, put them on my feet, so clean
And ran around Heaton Park this evening
